Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend remembering those who serve and have sacrificed for our country and our freedom. The hubs and I made a trip back to one of our fave spots – Manteo, NC and the Outer Banks to celebrate our third wedding anniversary and visit family! We had so much fun!
We bought sunscreen for our trip, but got to the beach and realized we forgot to actually bring the sunscreen WITH us **face palm**.
While we were soaking up some sun an ocean rescue team pulled up and brought some poor girl out from WAY out in the water. Thankfully, she looked okay!
We stayed at The Tranquil Inn. SUCH a beautiful place! They had lemonade and crackers during the day and wine and cheese tastings at night – YUM.
The view right outside our room of the marina – so relaxing!
If you know Stan, you know he’s freakishly good at mini golf. Which makes me not want to play mini golf with him, ha. But this time I kept up with him! This was his face after nearly making a hole in one, but jussttttt missed it – I might have laughed 😉
The sun set right into the Sound when we were getting ice cream in Rodanthe, which was just beautiful! According to Stan, it only happens a couple times a month!
On our flight to NC we had to wait in a holding pattern in the air over Charlotte for about 40 min thanks to some crazy storms. Then we were taken out of the holding pattern, only to be returned to it, then had to go to Knoxville, TN to refill the plane with gas (and couldn’t de-board because they didn’t have the area for a bigger plane – that was fun), then finally made it to Charlotte, ran across the airport to just make it in time for our connecting flight right before they closed the door. THEN on our way home to TX we sat on the runway for about an hour waiting for yet another storm to pass and finally made it home 4 hours later. SUCH crazy travel this time around! These were our faces as we were waiting to fly to NC 🙂 Whatcha going to do amiright??
Got to chill with my fave animals in the world on the family farm and my heart was so so very happy. I might’ve been sneezed on just after this picture – lovely image, I know.
Where are your favorite places to travel in NC?! I’d love to hear!
